good for me Aug 25, 2007

i like the tooth powder. it might take a bit of getting used to for some people but for me, it's wonderful. my only suggestion is a bit more peppermint added for taste but i can do that myself. since i was young, i've had a problem with toothpaste. it gives me an upset stomach. i switched to "natural" toothpastes with no better results. finally i switched to baking soda, then baking soda and salt. now i'm enjoying the ipsab tooth powder. :-)

Tight and tingly gums after only one use Oct 01, 2007
By meow I just used this product for the first time and, already, feel something happening in my gums. They feel tighter and tingly. I am nearing 30, and have started to notice that my gums are puffier than normal, and I worry that I'll end up like my mom with a 20-minute brushing/flossing regimin in the evenings. When I bought it, I didn't know that the high salt content was good for this, but I can feel it starting to make a difference even after one use. I purchased this tooth powder because I read an article about certain Chinese-manufactured toothpastes containing ethylene glyol (the main ingredient in antifreeze) and it made me want to go all natural, and this is as natural as it gets! I have an Indian friend who swears by this bark. He says that cavities are unheard of in his village because they chew on it after meals. They don't even have electricity or running water. If you suspect that modernity is sometimes not always the boon to mankind that it's promised to be, this product may be for you! I can't wait to use it again!

Fantastic product! Jul 28, 2010
By BGuhl I've been using this product since 1988. I would never be without it. I use it nightly, and every few nights I brush with Viadent toothpaste, too. I think of this as a cleaning and polishing powder.
I am genetically prone to cavities and tartar build up. I don't floss regularly, though I know I should. Even so, my dentist is always amazed at how healthy my teeth and gums are. A few years ago I didn't go to the dentist for 3 years; and when the dental hygienist examined my teeth she thought I'd had a cleaning in the last 6 months! I've since been told I don't need to go to the dentist every 6 months.
Upon first use this tooth powder may remind you of brushing with baking soda with a light peppermint flavor. Dentist's use a cherry-flavored grainy paste to clean and polish your teeth, too, and people are fine with that. So, if you want really clean teeth and want to save on dental visits, learn to be fine with this and think of it as a dental cleanser and polish!

long timer user Jun 04, 2010

Well, I've been using this product for years and must admit it does get some getting used to. But once you do you will notice a healthier mouth, especially the gums. The trick is not to swallow the solution - which is what you should do with any dentrifice. My teeth have been getting the A-OK from the dentist, now that I use ipsab, and nothing makes my breathe smell better. It's a product that you can easily emulate on your own once you read the ingredients - which are not many...and that is always a good sign.
