1covers the toothbrush top, but.....  Jan 02, 2010
By L. Walsworth
i bought these as a stocking stuffer, and was totally bummed that they ruin the toothbrush. they fit nicely, look cool, but do something weird to the sonic vibrations. it's like the little covers block the vibrations so they don't get to the brush head. the first time i used one i was struck by how much the handle of my toothbrush was vibrating (my flexcare had never let me down before). i readjusted the silicone cover, even trimmed it a bit around the top rim, but nothing worked. the handle vibrated, and the brush head didn't. total waste of money for me.

Handle vibrates more than brush head with product installed. Very disappointed! Not worth $14 - returning product.

1not as expected  Oct 01, 2010

We installed this Sonic Seal on our Philips Sonicare FlexCare Rechargeable Sonic Toothbrush with Sanitizer purchased here at Amazon.

We found that the Sonic Seal did not perform as expected.
Even when careully properlly installed, water can still get into the hollow shaft of the toothbrush head including the units shaft area too, which is the point.

We have found that the best way to keep it dry is to remove the toothbrush head after every use, and taping it to remove any water, and let it set to air dry (we don't like storing it on the charger base nipple either since that doesn't allow it air dry quickly enough)

Also we've found that the Sonic Seal abnormally exaggerated the vibration of the toothbrush unit in a moderate way as the silicone seal seems to spring cushion itself off the brush head assembly even more as it vibrates, importantly it also makes the unit louder with it on compared to with Sonic Seal removed.

The Sonic Seal looks and fits very well, and is very well made and seems like a very good idea at first. I give credit to the engineer who thought of it though, but realize they could not have foreseen the side effects until after it was created.

Even if this seal came with the unit free (which by the way it should be free) we still would not use this seal because of the issues expressed.

Thank you.

2Unnecessary  Aug 06, 2010
By Canuto B. Borromeo
This product does what it advertises in that it creates a barrier between the brush head and handle. However, this is accomplished at the cost of lost effectiveness of so much brushing power. When this seal was on, the brush handle vibrated more in my hand than on my teeth. I tried to adjust my grip, angle of brushing, etc. to no avail. Finally, I took it off and tossed it in the trash. I now make sure that I have my head up when brushing so as not to get the sonicare handle too messy. Easy cleanup as indicated in the instruction book and I haven't had an issue.

1Decrease the power of vibration by half making the brush alot less effective as cleaning  Dec 05, 2010
By J. Gan "CEO"
Sonicare made the brush heads to have a small gap in between for it to vibrate. If you fill it with rubber, you will immediately notice that the brush becomes significantly weaker like if it was low on battery. Do not buy this product as it was not designed well. If you install it and then turn on the sonicare brush, then take it off you will see how badly it reduces the effectiveness of the brush vibrations that are needed to clean your teeth.
