Worth a try! Oct 07, 2010
By Karen I had very high cholesterol despite a very healthy diet, low weight and exercise. Since I couldn't tolerate Lipitor, Crestor or Zetia, I decided to try Policosanol Cholesterol Complex, an extra high fiber diet, fish oil, at least 32 oz. of green tea ice tea per day, milk and soy milk with plant sterols, and 100 mg of Coenzyme Q10. I just received my test results and my NMR LipoProfile numbers are significantly better than when I was taking Lipitor. My LDL-P result is down from 1764 to 1323, much closer to the optimal <1000. My total cholesterol is 181 and my HDL is up to 72 from 55. My triglycerides have also improved and are now 50 versus 137 while on Lipitor. My cholesterol numbers are not as good as they were while I was on Crestor and Zetia but I feel great on this regime and don't have the terrible muscle and joint pain I had while taking those medications.

Works Great Oct 25, 2009
By S. Ircha My doctor wanted me on Lipitor. I have four children and he said I have to think about them. I told him I wanted to try a natural supplement first to see if that helped. My doctor was amazed by how much lower my bad cholesterol levels went down after three months of use. He said I would not have to be on Lipitor now.
The negative review below is not very helpful. He stated that policosanol is out and phytosterols were in. However, a close look at the ingredients shows that this product contains phytoserols as well. It also includes other cholesterol lowering ingredients like Niacin. This is not just policosanol. Look at the ingredients. They are amazing.
Try it yourself as the proof is in the pudding.
It does smell and THREE of these horsepills is a serving of Policosanol. Mar 16, 2012
By S. Oliver Like so many others I read 4HB and decided to purchase these. So, yes they smell, BAD... but mine were not so bad as others have described. I am taking 3 at night and swallowing all three is a tall order. I wish I had read the materials better because I would have realized I purchased a 30 day supply, not 90 like I thought. One horse pill is doable, but three when they smell that bad makes me gag... and the doseage requires taking 3. My cheap self will keep taking them until they are gone but I WILL NOT purchase them again. I'm sure there is a one-pill option out there that wont smell this bad.

I could not tollerate the smell either Mar 05, 2012

"---ted"
I have no idea how is works because the smell like others have commented was just too much . It makes me gag just to think about it. I wish there was some other alternative I could find to this but I just dont know what to say. I had to put the bottle outside the house it was so bad.
