Best toothbrush I've ever used Oct 17, 2009
By Snik First of all let me say I bought this to replace one of those manual toothbrushes that have a battery and vibrate. That just wasn't cutting it. I was recommended by a dentist to get a Sonicare brush. Several years ago I had a first generation Sonicare toothbrush, which I liked. It eventually wore out and I never got another one, I just went back to the manual brushes (mainly due to cost). Well now that I have this I will never go back again. I will note some of the differences I've seen between my old first gen Sonicare brush: The handle is significantly more compact. They redesigned the attachment point for the brush head so crud doesn't get in and stay at the contact point. The brush heads are more nimble and don't have the separate flap on top. The charger base doesn't accumulate water and is smaller. There are more brushing modes to choose from (actually I think my old brush only had one, this has 5).
This comes with the main charging base with the UV sanitizer, a travel charge base, two brush heads (one regular, one compact), the actual brush base, some colored rings for the brush heads, and a travel pouch. I really like the 3 minute max care routine. The UV light is neat and simple to use. After you're done brushing, remove the brush head and put it in the compartment. Close the door and push the button, and it will be done in 10 minutes.
My mouth feels absolutely clean with this brush and I recommend it!

Doesn't have an LCD Display. Jul 13, 2009
By Fmohod Exactly. Who needs an LCD display for a toothbrush? The cool thing about the Oral B Triumph display is that I used it as a clock in my bathroom. The cool thing about the Sonicare toothbrush is that it cleans my teeth better than the Oral B Triumph. The only reason I bought this toothbrush is because I lost my Triumph toothbrush at the bus stop. So instead of buying that same one again, I thought I'd try the Sonicare since they wre about similar enough prices and I figured that the Sonicare would at least be just as good. After using it for about a week, I'd say the Sonicare is better. The Triumph is not a bad toothbrush. I just like this one better. The vibration tickles my whole hand when I brush. I find it quite comforting.

This is such a great toothbrush!! I had the older style Sonicare and it doesn't even compare to this toothbrush! One brush and it felt like I had just walked out of the dentist's office...defiantly a great buy!!

Best Tooth Brush Ever May 13, 2012
By BreezyPaige I absolutely LOVE this tooth brush. I've been using this tooth brush for about 3 years and love it as much today as I did 3 years ago. Prior to being a proud Sonicare owner, I used the Oral-B electric tooth brush. I went looking for a new brush for two reasons: one, the Oral-B brush heads always accumulated a gross slime inside of them, that really grossed me out. Who wants to put slime in their mouth when they are trying to CLEAN their teeth? Not I. The second reason I went looking for a new toothbrush, is that I really wanted a UV sanitizer for the toothbrush heads. Again, going back to not wanting to put something gross and loaded with germs in my mouth with the intention of cleaning. I solved both of these issues with this Sonicare, and much more!
To begin with, there is no gross slime getting stuck in these heads, and the UV sanitizer is amazing. I have read some other reviews that mentioned that daily use of the UV sanitizer can be cumbersome. I don't find this to be an issue at all. It does take a full 10 minutes to complete a full sanitization session, but I just turn on the sanitation while I am showering and/or flossing- my regular morning routine, and by the time I am ready to brush, my heads are nice and sanitized =). Other reviewers have also mentioned that the brush heads need to be perfectly aligned in the sanitizer for the door to close, but I have never had an issue of them not being "aligned" correctly. I just plop um on the peg, facing any direction and they fit perfectly! The brush heads come in 2 sizes, small and large, and one of each is included in the package, and I use the large ones and have still never had any issue with them fitting in the sanitizer.
Successfully meeting my 2 requirements for being happy with my new tooth brush, the Sonicare went above and beyond when it comes to the actual brushing. It truly is a revolutionary sort of "sonic" vibration. The Oral-B brush I used before just vibrated, this tooth brush seems to be a much more precise and advanced movement that vibrates with purpose. Its nearly impossible to explain the sensation of the Sonicare, but it truly cannot compare it to my old Oral-B. After using the this Sonicare for awhile, I went on vacation and grabbed my old Oral-B. When it came time to use it, I felt like the Oral-B didn't clean my teeth at all! If felt clunky inside my mouth, and the vibrating felt almost useless. The Sonicare really leaves my teeth CLEAN; like just after a dental cleaning clean feeling.
I really like the different brushing mode options. 'Refresh' is the 1 minute option, perfect for when I am in a rush. 'Clean' is the 2 minute option, that I use most often. 'GumCare' takes 3 minutes, the first 2 minutes of this mode are just like clean, and the last minute is more of the 'massage' feature, which is a bit softer and is meant to use for brushing your gums. I use the 'GumCare' option at night when I have the time. Then there is the just 'massage' feature. All of these options have an amazing slight pause every 30 seconds, that you use to make sure you are spending equal time in each quadrant of your mouth. I know other reviewers have mentioned that the programming of the brush modes can be annoying, but honestly it is just pushing one button next to the name of the program you wish to use at that time. I know some people might want to set it for the one they like and have it always use that option, but me personally, I like to use different modes at different times, so it would annoy me more if it was set to one and I couldn't change it as easily as I can now.
Another really cool thing about this brush is that it comes with 2 different chargers! One has the sanitizer attached to it, and the other one it for travel and does not come with a sanitizer. This toothbrush also comes with a travel case, and brush head covers, which is really cool. Also, the heads have a little plastic circle on it that comes in a few different colors, which is great for couples who share the toothbrush- each with a different color head.
I am a bit confused about the difference between the NiCad battery and the Li-ion battery. The newer models have the Li-ion which is supposed to mean that the brush will run longer on a single charge, and won't develop a memory by leaving it on the charging stand. However, I had the older model first and noticed that the newer one doesn't hold a charge as long. However, I had to purchase this newer one because my other battery eventually died, so hopefully this one will have a longer shelf-life, even if that means more charges in-between.
I love this toothbrush VERY much, and strongly recommend it to everyone. One more thing I have to mention, ever since I began using this brush, my dentist tells me at every cleaning that I am plaque and tarter free! I really believe that I have this tooth brush to thank for that. =)
Brilliant Dec 01, 2011
By Com Within the first 5 seconds it was obvious that the Flexcare brush moves across the teeth many more times than the Oral-B toothbrushes I have previously used.
I looked up the numbers and the Flexcare works at 31000 brushstrokes per minute, compared to the 8800 strokes per minute of the Oral-B Triumph (which this toothbrush just replaced).
There is really no comparison, my teeth feel MUCH cleaner after using the Flexcare and the Oral-B feels like old generation technology now.
Very happy with this purchase. My only quibble would be that trying to brush all my teeth within two minutes seems like a race against time and is going to take some practice.
