4Great shaver for occasional use  Sep 06, 2008
By steve
I am a devoted blade user (despite what the ads say, there are NO electrics that shave as close as a blade), but there are times that I just don't feel like going through the whole ritual of wet shaving. I've had all of the major electric brands at one time or another, including a Norelco rotary and an expensive Braun. I can say, without exaggeration, that this little eleven-buck throwaway shaver is the best electric I've ever owned or used.

When I ordered this, my main worry was that a battery-based shaver would be underpowered. Surprisingly, the lower power seems to be a plus. This shaver doesn't seem as aggressive and brutal as the plug-in and rechargeable models I've used. It doesn't irritate my skin but still has plenty of power to cut my very stiff hair.

Minor drawbacks: No trimmer; the clear plastic head protector doesn't stay on (but you can solve that with a rubber band); the cleaning brush is tiny and is hard to remove from the plastic protector (so I use a leftover brush from a previous shaver). Considering the price and performance, these are trivial issues.

3OK Shave but great value  Dec 17, 2007
By D. Halverson "Dan H"
I have 4 types of travel shavers, all run on AA batteries. Of the 4
(Axis AX-1300, Remington Travel Shaver, Bell & Howell travel shaver,
and Braun Travel shaver) the Remington gives the best shave. While not a great shave it is good for the price of the shaver It is a good value given the price. On the downside the on-off switch is poorly designed and I can't keep the cap on the shaver. Of the 4 this is the one I use the most. The Axis 1300 is used the least used and at 3x - 4x the price the poorest value.

5Great battery operated shaver. Skip the titanium turbo for this!  Aug 09, 2005
By torgosuave
After trying the "titanium turbo" and it having a hard time shaving the neck area plus the foil breaking through a bit I ordered this(should of done so first but didn't see it after the fact.) It shaves fairly well including the neck area. It has two foil/cutters that do a better job than the titanium turbo could. The cutters are affixed which actually makes it better to clean with the supplemented brush in the headguard. So far after a week its great! Highly recommend.

5Excellent shave and lasted way longer than I thought it would  Apr 02, 2007
By Terry
I get the best shave of any razor with this. Even the "non-disposable" quality razors. It lasted about as long as a typical foil does on other razors. I just bought a couple more.

4Excellent, Cheap Shaver!  Jul 01, 2008
By Eddie
This has been my primary shaver since July of last year. Bought it when I forgot my Norelco rotary on a trip. Have not looked back since. This shaver outperformed my Norelco in every aspect. Just shows that price ($10 vs. $90) does not equal quality.

Why four stars? A couple items:
- Battery operated. Can get expensive over time to keep buying batteries, though the batteries do tend to last a while (2+ weeks) before speed of blade gets noticeably slower.
- Can't replace the blades or foil. Small complaint, as the shaver is cheap enough to just buy a new one.
- Does take a few passes to get a majority of the hairs (esp. after batteries are worn a little).
- As with all electrics, tends to miss hair, especially in hard areas (under chin, around lip, next to ears, etc.)

Overall, a great value to at least try BEFORE you spend $70+ on a rechargeable shaver.
