5OMG. So. Excited.  Dec 09, 2011
By Amazoner321
Update 3/3/2012: I'm pleased to report I've had *totally* different results on my bikini line than on my legs. I'd say I've seen at least a 60% reduction in growth after 3 treatments, maybe more (I'm only 1 week post-treatment so there is still time for more hairs to fall out) - I'm amazed and completely pleased! Still working on my legs, making progress slowly but surely.

Bottom line - I think the color and texture of the hairs do make a HUGE difference in the results - not just between different people, but between different parts of your own body. Accordingly, I'm sure the reviews here and people's experiences will vary a lot. But it does work!!

Update 2/8/2012: So, after a bunch of treatments (6?) I'm back to update. You are probably wondering how I fit so many treatments in in the ~7 weeks or so since my last update - I'll get to that.
The results: I *do* still have hair on my legs (the only place I've treated so far). HOWEVER: it is much more sparse and thin than it was before. I'm disappointed I wasn't TOTALLY! HAIRLESS! after 3 sessions as the advertisement promised, but I do think it's *working* and will continue to treat. The reason I'm not downgrading my rating to fewer stars (yet) is because:
1) For my first 3 treatments I was so excited about the device, I only waited 1 week between treatments. I read in the comment section here that professional IPL actually recommends you wait up to 4 weeks between treatments (!) because it takes 10-15 days just for the hairs to fall out. If they haven't fallen out, they haven't re-grown, so you're treating the same hairs over and over if it you do it too frequently. As soon as I read that, I switched to every 2 weeks like they recommend. My bad for not following directions initially and I do think this has affected my results.
2) My leg from knee to ankle is a *lot* of surface area; at least more so than places like tummy or underarms. I am pretty sure I have not yet mastered the art of not missing spots when I'm treating (most of my thicker remaining hair is centered on my shinbone for some reason - maybe I keep missing there?) so perhaps every hair has not been treated every time. My sister-in-law has this device as well and said it's working miracles for her everywhere but not as much on her legs. So that's a theory.

I'm now working on bikini area and am going to keep treating my legs. I expect to see a significant reduction very very soon. If not, I'll be back to report. (This review will get impossibly long!)

Update 12/12/2011: My second treatment was this weekend and I can definitively say I have fewer hairs growing back today than I would normally. I last shaved on Thursday (today is Monday) and usually my legs would already be covered in noticeable stubble, so I think it's actually working. I'd post pictures here if I could! I have small patches of leg that have no hair, and the hairy patches (ick) are less.. thick.. dense?.. than they should be.

One thing to know that is difficult about the device is the window is smaller than the treatment head, so it's hard to see what patches are overlapping and which aren't. I imagine this will make for initially patchy results, but it's easy to go back and spot treat. More updates to come.

I certainly hope the hair removal industry is ready, because they are going DOWN!

Super excited to be an early-adopter of one of these devices because now I get to be totally hairless before all of my friends. Well, at least that's what I'm hoping. Full disclosure is that I just bought my i-light last week so have only done one treatment so far (second one scheduled for a few days from now), so I plan to review it today and then update again once I've done the full 3 treatments they recommend before seeing results.

So far, I couldn't be happier with the machine. It's easy to use (after reading the instruction booklet, of course) and I'm pretty confident it will work (when I zapped areas of my leg that I missed while shaving, I actually saw the little hairs shriveling up). It IS important, as they say, to shave beforehand because a) it hurts less and b) no burnt hair smell. I was able to use power level 5 so hopefully after treatment #2 I'll start seeing fewer hairs.

4Works...but slower than expected  Jan 08, 2012
By Sam
I bought this because I absolutely hate shaving, and I wasn't making the time to epilate. I also figured if it was going to work for anyone, it would be me: I am VERY fair, and have quite dark hair.

Treatment turns out to be far quicker than I expected. It only takes about 45 minutes to cover everything: legs, underarms and bikini line. To be fair, I'm not being very particular about whether I'm covering every single hair, but I figure if it works I can always go back and treat any missed patches later. I can go easily to the highest setting for my legs: my underarms and bikini line hurt a bit so I go to lower levels on those.

After the first treatment, I was incredibly disappointed. I noticed absolutely no results: on legs, underarms, or bikini line. I was going away, so I didn't quite wait the full two weeks for the second treatment. I go to the top level on my underarms, and the second highest on my bikini line.

A week after the second treatment, still no change. But then I noticed my legs were starting to itch like crazy. Turned out that I had HUNDREDS of leg hairs that had detached from the root, but hadn't fallen out. They had also been detached for a while: many of them were tiny, indicating I'd shaved them at least once in between. My underarms too are looking a little more sparse.

I don't know why the hair didn't fall out, as the manual suggests. Perhaps its because years of epilation have damaged the hair shafts. But I've stopped shaving between treatments (too much risk of pimples and infection if the hair doesn't fall out).

Treatments 3 and 4 on my legs turn out to only be spot treatments: as others have mentioned it's almost impossible to ensure that the window covers everything, so you are going to have patches that you've missed. Honestly, its much quicker to treat the hair patches later than to spend hours trying to make sure you've covered everything the first time. My underarms and bikini line are going to take longer. But the hair is GONE! And, so far at least, its not coming back.

Now it just remains to be seen how long the treatment lasts...

3Could have been a 5 star...  Jan 15, 2012
By A. Schoenhofer
Okay, I was all ready to leave a 5 star review, as I have used the Remington IPL for one full body treatment, and have noticed markedly decreased growth in all areas. I was very excited to start my scheduled second full body treatment tonight, only to get about 2/3 of my left calf done(30 pulses), and the thing quit!! The little yellow indicator light came on that shows you it no longer has any flashes left, so ...dead in the water with only a small portion of one leg on it's way to being hair free. :(. I KNOW I didn't come close to using this product for 1500 pulses, so I'm highly dissatisfied with the fact I now have to order and wait on a new cartridge, not to mention dish out more money way sooner than expected just to continue the treatments. This product is not that cheap, so to have to chuck out another $25 already after one body treatment is assanine. I will post an update to this once I complete the remaining treatments.

5So far so (very) good :)  Jan 17, 2012
By Cali-opinions
The first thing I'd like to point out so that it doesn't get burried toward the end of my review is that each reviewer who gave this product one star, never actually got to use it for one reason or another (defective, too scared, etc.). That said, if they had actually had the opportunity, I don't think they would have rated the product in such a way.

Here's my experience with the machine: I actually use it more often the the directions suggest, like every few days or so,and have done so for the past few weeks. Happily, I am seeing results! In the places I have treated, the hair growth is dramatically reduced and what does grow back grows back much much more slowly. I use the machine on five, which does cause some pain, but the results are definitely worth it! Also another reviewer made a good point, which is that the bulb is going to burn out after a certain number of flashes regardless of the intesity, so may as well get the most benefit for your buck.

If your like me and hair maintenance has become far too large a part of your life, this will be a god send. Even with doing the treatments, I still spend less time mananging hair! I like the product, and I'm glad I bought it :)

4Let See... If This Works  Jan 16, 2012
By Tommeh
First off, im going to say im a guy using this.
Ok let see I just got this about 1 week ago and I can't tell if this is working or not so that why my rating is like 3 stars right now. I can share with you what I know so far. I did this to my leg hair and chest hair and so far I can say this thing does hurt A LITTLE kind of like a little sting for every flash and it doesn't hurt much in area with fine or less hair but I can tell you this thing really sting somewhat in area where the hair are darker and thicker and I was using this on lowest setting, so my top part of my chest and my leg was really feeling that sting for every flash lol. But so far I think it's working....... because.... I tested a little by using a tweezer to plucking a couple strands and they easily come out without any pain but that about it for now. I can see this begin really uncomfortable to use during first time but if hair really does grow out thinner then before or not at all I can see how this is less painful as you use it.

------------------------------Will Update After 2nd Session-----------------------------------

ALRITE this will be my last review update about this and I like to let you guys know it works great.~ The amount of hair reduction is very visible and I havent had to shave as much as I use to since most of the hair is like gone, dont know if it will grow back but I can see that lot of my body hair is gone and my chest is a lot clearer. I can also tell you the sting isnt as bad as the first time since most of the hair is gone so you barely even feel the sting, I used on 3rd setting for chest/leg, 1st setting for pub area, the pub still hurts must be because the hair thicker down there so it takes longer since im using 1st setting
I tell you why I didn't give this 5 stars below.

--------------------------------Pros and Cons Section------------------------------------------

Pros:
-Great reduction of hair
-Not very time consuming(Took me about 10-15mins to do both my chest and pub area)
-Don't have to worry about shaving everyday now(only do a quick shave in areas I missed)
-No more shaving burns
-No more see those tiny little black spots where the hair is after shaving

Cons:
-Not very accurate...(it's really hard to see which area you done and which you havent if you dont pay attention so i end up having to guess where i left off whenever i lose focus and this makes me miss some spots, might be because of the flashes, i suggest you put on a pair of sunglasses or something because that flash might be harmful for you eyes)
-Somewhat painful (I know alot of people say this isnt painful but in truth it all depend on your hair, I find darker thicker hair are much more painful when zapped so this hurts quite a bit in the pub area.... but the pain is like a sting so it goes away after a min, not to bad even though i used lowest setting for pub)
-Hair doesn't really naturally fall out....(i dont know why maybe this just me but the hair doesnt really fall out naturally, i needed to use a epilator to pluck the hair out but good thing is that since your hair root should be detached, epilating doesnt hurt at all, only area that should hurt if its the area you missed)
