1Two warranty replacements so far and counting  Mar 15, 2010
Bought in Dec 2008 to replace a very very old Sonicare (T H E original model!) because it stopped working. This model is much improved over my previous original Sonicare model which had the large screw-on brush head that always got a gunky build up inside the threaded brush housing.

I would give my new Sonicare ***** when it works; problem is that I have had to replace it T W I C E so far in 2010. Problem has been the same both times; when placed in the charger it turns on and off, on and off continuously all by itself. Scary! After it starts doing this it only works intermittently. The new one lasted 13 months. The replacement only lasted two months!

Customer service was very pleasant both times and the replacements cost me nothing. H O W E V E R, each time I'm without a Sonicare for two weeks A N D my warranty expires in Dec 2010. I am not optimistic about this product's reliability. If you look through the reviews, you will see others have experienced my exact same problem.

2Nice concept but has some serious flaws  Mar 13, 2010
I looked forward to receiving this toothbrush after reading reviews and the product description. I have used it for about six weeks and just can't get past a couple of the design flaws. First, the on/off switch is in a poor location. I keep accidentally turning the toothbrush on and off while brushing, even when I make a conscious effort to avoid the switch. Second, the toothbrush throws toothpaste everywhere when running. My mirror is continually getting splattered with toothpaste and the toothpaste continually dribbles down the brush and handle when in use. I have not had these problems with other electric toothbrushes. Unfortunately, I am now in the market for another unit....

1Don't buy!!!!  Mar 12, 2010
I originally bought this brush back in 2007. The first two years it worked fine, but then all of sudden the brush heads started slipping off of the brush into my mouth. So I bought replacement heads (for way too much money)and the same happened with those three. I assumed after two years it was broken so I bought a new one. For the first three months it worked fine. Then, again, the brush heads started to slide off again. Again, I bought the replacement pack of heads. They all started to slide off. The second one in my pack CHIPPED MY TOOTH. So now I figured I had a serious problem here. I called customer support to see what the problem was. They told me that miraculously I was the only person who had ever contacted that particular support staff with the brush head problem. That I was the reason stating that I was taking off and replacing the brush heads incorrectly. How can that be if they only fit on one way? She said if I had kept my receipt then they could move the case to the escalation team. Sadly, not thinking I was going to have problems with a $100 toothbrush, I didn't keep it. My mistake. I trusted a multi-million dollar corporation and it's product to stand behind said product. Oh well, I would recommend a safer $15 spin-brush. At least those won't fly off into your mouth. Or, buy a $3 regular brush. It was good enough for generations before us!

5Nice upgrade!  Mar 06, 2010
WOW....sleeker design than my previous Sonicare and so much better having the sanitizer attached and not a separate device. Best part of the new design? The fact that you don't have to clean the inside of the unit anymore!!!!!! The new toothbrush just snaps on and you don't have to unscrew the brush head. No interior cleaning--what a pain that was!! Performance of the toothbrush is far superior as well. I highly recommend.

5Sonicare Tooth Brush  Mar 04, 2010
Had the last model, think called elite, and it worked great for 3 or 4 years until it died in India. Wasn't brushing out of the Yamuna or Ganga river water either. The new model is easier to hold, has soft brush for gums as well as teeth. It's lighter. These features may not be important but together, despite recommendations I can brush in 30 seconds or less if pushed. Makes mouth and gums feel good.
