I bought the original Sonicare when the product came out many years ago. I love it. Normal toothbrushes do not compare to a Sonicare. Everybody should own one. Don't waste money purchasing the more expensive new Sonicare designs. The 5300 will do the same job as the more expensive models, the 5300 just doesn't have some of the bells and whistles.

My dentist gave me a Sonicare about two years ago. These are great inventions! These are not some crazy gimmick! They work! I would not have had to spend $17,000 on dental and gum work if I had grown up with one of these. It makes brushing easy and done properly...and for the correct amount of time and technique. For Christmas I bought my wife and two children their own Sonicare Power Toothbrushes.

This is my first sonic toothbrush and love it so far after 4 months of use....my teeth feel really clean and is pretty easy to use.....my gums feel a lot healthier too.....
it turns off by itself after 2 min of use...now some people have complained that it does not beep for each quadrant every 30 seconds.....now come on....do you want someone to brush your teeth as well.........? for me this is just a gimmick and pure laziness.....
This is a great and reliable product...
My only complaint is that somehow the stuff gets into the inside of the body through the ring on top.....which can get pretty ugly of you do not twist the top open and wash after every use.....but if you do...it is not a biggiee
