Great Product / Currently shipping error on product Feb 12, 2011
By Global Traveler This is a great product which I have used for a long time with excellent results. It's not going to overcome a bad diet with too many calories and too many carbohydrates ... But it will keep you regular ...help you feel full ...and does offset some of the carbohydrates to help you lose weight easier and control sugar. Remember, this is a powder so you need to mix it with about 1/2 glass of water [takes a lot of stirring to mix], or sprinkle it onto your food. Suggest you also get the "Nopal Capsules" to use when not at home. Best results with powder is 1 heaping tablespoon with or before your main meal ... Capsules should be 6 just before or with a light meal. Just don't expect miracles like "eat all you want of whatever you want"...
Note: Amazon is currently having shipping errors with getting the "Buy 4 for Price of 3" correct on the "Red Label Diabetes Control" version... You order 1 of this special and get only 1-7oz container instead of the 4 that should be enclosed.. Amazon is working with the seller on the shipping error... Should be OK to order without problems in a few weeks.
Until then, same product/same manufacturer with a different color label and same "Buy 4 for price of 3" offer is available. Has "Blue label with Cholesterol Control" on it instead of Red, but same product from same supplier.. 100% Nopal Powder. So buy the Blue label for now... and skip the Red label version ... Remember, it's the same stuff from the same company.

Prickly Perk Power Aug 29, 2011

This is the greatest stuff ever. It will make you do a little dance. We didn't know about the blood sugar regulation when we considered it for my husband's tachycardia problem, but, it sure works well to keep it in line. The heartbeat hasn't changed yet, after 2 weeks, but he will continue to take it to hopefully arrest the fast pulse also.

NOpal Jul 10, 2011
By pandaman The powder doesn't dissolve well in cold drinks, it's gritty. Sprinkled on salads, it's gritty & has an odor. I'll buy fresh cactus in the grocery store.

FIRST GREEN, NOW A YELLOW/TAN COLOR (?) May 27, 2011
By Observant One Have been purchasing Nopal Powder from GiantBio for past few months.
Packaged as Glucose Control and Cholesterol Control. I too did not get the advertised discount. But did receive good product. And do believe its a good source of fiber providing many benefits. Now packaged as "GLUCOSE CHOLESTEROL CONTROL". I receive the advertised discount. But it's not the same product.
Previous batches arrived as a dark green. With a granular consistency having a fresh grass like scent. Now batches arrive and product is a yellow tan color. With a dusty powder like consistency having an odd almost spice like scent. As if product was exposed to too much heat. Did not make use of product in this condition, having returned it.
But, after purchasing other brands recently I find this same matter. So how was I first able to get a fresh green granular product with grass like scent? And now its this yellow/tan dusty powder with a spice like... cooked, almost rancid scent!
My thinking is, if not a result of shipping/handling damage. Due to say, heat from weather, x-ray or irradiation during shipping. Then perhaps its about harvest and processing. In that some crops harvested during cooler times of the year. Lend itself to being coarsely ground maintaining more original structure as granular. Meanwhile processed in cold environment without direct exposure to Sun. It does maintain more of its green color and scent. While other crops being harvested during warmer times. Grind finer, then loosing structure becomes a dusty powder. All the while, exposure to Sun during processing would cause some degradation/reactions... therefore, a change of color and scent.
Having only started to use Nopal powder in recent months I have not the experience nor observations to know about it all. But, as been said, certainly enough to get into trouble.

"ibuystuff"
what does "buy 4 for price of 2" mean? You only get one in this order and if you add 4 to your order you get charged for all 4.
