Very effective, awesome product Aug 23, 2010
By IGnyc I had reviewed this product in a negative light about 8 months ago. Since then I have not used it until about a month ago, and I am actually going to have to completely change my mind and write a positive review. I beleive the reason I disliked it originally is that I was mixing it too many other "brain health" supplements at the same time and the mixture was probably not really good for testing this product in a fair way.
Nnow that I have tried this product by itself for the last month, I find it very effective in memory retention, as well as producing a focused and clear state of mind. I have decided to work it into my daily regimen as it is definitely instrumental in improving the quality of my life and helps me retain focus throughout the day, as well as feel much sharper than I usually do. I did find that it worked right away, but as I continued to take it for a couple of weeks there was definitely a build up effect where I found it to become more and more effective. I would definitely recommend it to someone who is looking to improve their focus/concentration/memory and overall brain health and vitality.
As an unexpected benefit, in addition to energizing the mind I also found it very good for athletic recovery and mazimizing workouts, probably because it has cordyceps and reishi as part of the ingredients.
Overall, I would call this formula effective in doing what it claims to do - increase focus, mental clarity and memory recall. I hope they keep it around and not discontinue it like the last formula.

New Chapter Lifeshield Mindforce Apr 14, 2011
By LBG This stuff acts like a good strong cup of coffee without any major side effects. If you need to wake up, be alert and concentrate on something for the entire day then this is a good supplement to try. It has worked very well for me for this purpose.
An interesting thing is that after several days of use I now require less sleep to feel fully rested. Usually I have to get a full eight hours otherwise I feel mentally wiped out by the end of the day. With Mindforce I have consistently cut down to 6.5-7 hours of sleep per night with more sleep being unnecessary. I have found that I wake up after about 7 hours refreshed and ready to go conquer the world again.

The old one was better for me Sep 28, 2010
By Solaris9 I liked the old one. And, I was hoping the new version would be equal or better. But, for me, I felt the previous one fit me better. I don't know the differeces in the ingredient. But, I know which would work better for me. I'm still going to take this until I find a better one...

Inferior to Mental Clarity and More Expensive Dec 04, 2011
By victori100
"victori100"
This "new and updated" version of New Chapter's mental clarity product is pretty inferior. Supposedly they changed suppliers according the a New Chapter rep I contacted. Their previous supplier was less reliable she said. Personally I think they changed suppliers to reduce their costs (went with a cheaper supplier). The product has suffered. Mind Force is not nearly as good as Mental Clarity. I guess you get what you pay for. I have since switched to a cheaper lions mane product from Swansons. It is also inferior to Mental Clarity but is about on par with Mind Force and a lot less expensive. If I am going to use an inferior product I want to pay accordingly.
In fact, Mental Clarity is not the first New Chapter product to suffer an "updating." I think the company has changed their business strategy to "reduce quality and effectiveness of our products but raise our prices."

Not as good as Mental Clarity...but Ok. Jan 07, 2012
By Booksponge I have to agree with what other reviewers are saying, this product is OK, but I definitely noticed a greater difference in the way I felt when taking the Mental clarity pills. Not sure what changed, but it wasnt for the better.
