Good Herbal Blend that Avoids Many Pitfalls of Other Formulae Oct 21, 2009
By L. Gildart I know more than I ever wanted to know about the side effects of some phytonutrients that are common in multi-vitamin formulae - particularly those specifically for women. I have SLE with co-morbid hypercoagulability that is not from the factors that typically cause APS. I also have chronic anemia and low vitamin D levels. Very boring, and all it means is that I cannot take anything that will overstimulate my immune system or put me at any higher risk of blood clots.
Unfortunately, it is all too fashionable these days to put lots of black cohosh in women's supplements. It's a great herb if you don't have a history of blood clots, strokes, or seizures, but if you're at risk for any of these, you need to avoid the stuff.
This product has herbs that offer similar balancing benefits without the risk of additional coagulability. Raspberry and red clover actually may help with hyper-coagulability issues. However, there is artichoke in this, so if you are supposed to avoid Vitamin K, you might want to choose a different supplement.
The other thing to watch out for with this supplement is that it gives you 100% of the rda of Vitamin A. It's all from betacarotene, which is good, but if you're pregnant or trying to get pregnant, you're going to want to be really careful that you are not also getting a ton of preformed Vitamin A from animal products. Use New Chapter's Perfect PreNatal instead.
One other caution I have is that the chamomile in this may give you some trouble if you're highly allergic to ragweed.
New Chapter makes products I trust. I've been using their Zyflamend for awhile, now, and it has been an effective pain reliever that has not given me any side effects. They are certified organic and use tremendous care in sourcing and producing their supplements.

Great option for just one-a-day Aug 07, 2007
By Melanie Barrett
"ethics prof"
I've been taking this multi-vitamin for the past two years or so, and am quite fond of it. You only have to take one per day, and it is in a whole food base so you can even take it on an empty stomach and it is really easy to digest. It also has some helpful items that other one-a-day vitamins don't have, like ginger, blueberry, and red clover. I supplement it with calcium-magnesium, an antioxidant combo, and omega-3s (solaray super purepa). The only drawback is that it is a tablet, not a capsule, so if you have an ultra-sensitive throat you'll find it difficult to swallow. Also, it doesn't have a very strong taste if you swallow it quickly, but if you let it sit on your tongue too long while looking for a glass of water, it will start to taste bad. So, I'm giving it four stars rather than five, but it's still the best women's one-a-day multi-vitamin on the market that I've found thus far.

New Chapter sold out ... Mar 23, 2012
By Maria Norcia Santillanes New Chapter, the company, sold out to Proctor & Gamble and I am very disappointed. "New Chapter co-founder Paul Schulick announced, "For us, this has been a dream come true. This is what we have been wanting to do since we started doing this 30 years ago. The world and the United States need this."
So the company who proclaimed to be a company with high integrity, providing only the highest natural and organic quality, proclaiming to be an advocate in the natural products market, sold out for money, for greed and the worst part is that they were phony all the time based on what the co-founder said.
Don't think the product quality will stay the same, P&G only answers to the shareholder so I can only envision less quality and higher prices.
I can not, will not buy from a hypocritical company and I hope you won't either. Your choice to make.

Great multivitamin but at least 6X the price of my usual multivitamin Nov 25, 2009
By Pennsylvania Reader My usual daily multivitamin is Kirkland Signature Daily Multi, $25.67/500. New Chapter Every Woman's One Daily is, as of this writing, $30.28/90. (Prices vary widely, but that is the lowest price per tablet I've found for New Chapter.) That's $5.13 per 100 for Kirkland and $33.61 per 100 for New Chapter. Is New Chapter 6-7 times better? I don't think so, but I'm providing the comparison below for those who are interested. The Kirkland Daily Multi is similar to Centrum.
New Chapter contains more of the daily value of: Vit A (100% vs. 70%) Vit K (100% vs. 31%) Folate (200% vs. 125%) B12 (200% vs. 100%) Biotin (50% vs. 10%) Copper (75% vs. 50%) Chromium (50% vs. 33%)
Kirkland contains more of the daily value of: Vit C (200% vs. 100%) Vit D (150% D3 vs. 100% D) Vit E (200% vs. 100%) Calcium (20% vs. 1%) Iron (100% vs. 16%) Iodine (100% vs. 50%) Zinc (150% vs. 53%) Manganese (125% vs. 50%) Molybdenum (100% vs. 53%) Potassium (2% vs. <1%)
They are equal for: Thiamin B1 Riboflavin B2 Niacin B6 Pantothenic Acid Selenium
New Chapter also contains a proprietary blend of herbal extracts for "women's life shield response," "immune support," and "superfoods and spices," the dietary value of which have not been established, of various berries, clover, mushrooms, soy, spinach, tumeric, ginger, and blueberry.
Kirkland also contains born, nickel, tin, silicon, vanadium, lutein (flower), and lycopene, the daily value of which have not been established.
New Chapter is organic. The tablet has a mild, distinctive scent similar to a horse treat (baked oats, molasses, etc.), but it has the standard barely distinguishable flavor (not unpleasant). They are the same in size.

Every Woman's One Daily Vitamins May 06, 2007
By C. Y. Hershbain I have been very pleased with Every Woman's One Daily since I began taking them in February. This is the first time I tried this product, and am feeling the benefits from it. I am experiencing more energy, and I believe that my health overall is better. I am also very impressed with the fact that these vitamins are made with natural products and that they can be taken at any time, not necessarily with a meal. There is no unpleasant taste or after-effects. I would recommend these most readily...in fact, I am in the process of ordering more. A satisfied customer, C.H.
