Excellent Product, works well, very high quality Dec 13, 2009 I've had this product for several years and it is very helpful. I use it for muscle soreness injuries from tae kwon do (strenuous exercies) and it's very helpful. Together with rehab stretching and strength exercises performed gently and progressively, this pad has helped me tremendously in the recovery of a torn hamstring muscle; I saw a big difference once I started using the pad. It was also very useful in the beginning of TKD for general soreness after strenuous exercise. I have found dit da jow to be even more effective for general muscle soreness, although DDJ didn't help with my hamstring injury, for which this infrared heating pad is the best. The build quality is extremely high, it's in as good shape now as when I bought it years ago, even after lots of use/abuse and being stuffed into pc carrying bags, backpacks and etc.

It lasted ONE DAY Feb 18, 2008 I purchased this for my mother who is in constant pain. Conventional heating pads have helped in the past, so I thought this was worth the chance that it provided a deeper heat. It may have, but we will never know. The control for "high" and "low" (there are only two settings on this) functioned for ONE DAY. After that everything was low, and low was quite low.
I am in the process of returning the product, so I cannot yet rate the merchant and their response to this, but even if that goes smoothly, one is stuck with the shipping costs, the time spent to ship back, etc. For well over $200 -- when conventional heating pads cost in the area of $30 -- I felt that one should be getting a solid product.
The manufacturer gives a 30 day money back guarantee. I hesitate in getting an exchange for the defective product, because one can use up the 30 days just in exchanges--then what?

Works very well, provides deep penetrating heat Dec 13, 2007 This was a very pricy heating pad, but it's been well worth the investment. The only complaint that I have is that there are 3 rock-hard "bricks", one located in each of three sections that comprise the pad. These "bricks" can be very uncomfortable and take a bit of work to get them into a "good" position. I'm sure that the "bricks" are the housing for the infrared elements, but it would have been nice if they were made from a less rigid material. The hard "bricks" were the only reason that I rated this product a 4 instead of 5 stars. Overall, I find that the infrared "heat" penetrates deeper and is far more effective than conventional heating pads. Also the actual surface temperature of the skin next to the pad never gets hot enough to burn which can be the case with a regular heating pad left on too high of a setting for too long.
