Really zaps those cold sores Aug 30, 2007
By L. Gutman This little baby was expensive, but completely worth it. Used as directed (or even less often than directed, because I forget to do it), it clears up even the nastiest cold sores in just a few days. Amazing.

It SEEMS to work Jun 27, 2010

When I started a new job, I began traveling a lot and seemed to get a cold sore every time I hit the road. Guess it was due to the stresses of traveling. I saw this in the in flight magazines every time I flew and decided to give it a try. Nothing worse than showing up at a business meeting with a big cold sore on the bottom lip!
After six months, I THINK that it works. Since I started using it, I have gotten far fewer cold sores and they are far less severe. I don't really know if it's the DermaSeptic because I still use the ice cube trick, Abreava, and Campho-Phenique.
Regarding the conducting gel that comes with this, I found that alcohol hand cleaning gel works just as well and I like the idea of it being an antiseptic. Also, the Campho-Phenique gel works, too, although I only use it on the part that touches my lip. On the side of the device, I use the cheaper hand cleaning gel.
So, I am pretty sure that it's helping keep these cold sores at bay.

OH HELL YEAH! Jun 13, 2011
By AmazonJunkie I bought this product about 3.5 months ago, just after I had experienced a lengthy, unwelcome cold sore on my upper lip...I said to myself, "next time I feel the tingle, I am going to be as prepared as possible". Again, I was okay with never getting a cold sore and if I didn't need to try DermaSeptic, I'd live! However, this past Saturday morning, I woke up and felt the tingle on my upper lip...so I ran out to my car, grabbed this little device from the glove compartment and went to work...2 treatments throughout the day, the tingle had disappeared and any sorts of puffiness and breaks in the skin ceased to exist...my goodness, this thing is like having "sharks with fricking laser beams on their heads"...simply awesome!
I would recommend keeping this item with you at all times...whether it be in the car, or in a bag you constantly use; I really feel that for the best results, you have to attack the cold sore in it's infancy stage. I would highly recommend one, regardless the price!

Praying for cure might be better. Sep 29, 2010
By Troy First off I get cold sores about once every 6 months with a min 2 times a year. (yeah it sucks badly) So I have PLENTY of chances and opportunity's to try every product or remedy out there.
I've tried this device on 2 cold sores now and here are my results:
I know the exact sensation to get my new found product ready. The sweet burning tingle that starts. So rushing to my bathroom cabinet to get the Dermaseptic is rather second nature for me.
First cold sore: On the lower lip. Used for 5mins each hour for 5 hours. It seemed to keep cold sore smaller then usual but did not stop it from forming even though I started before it formed. Result: Healing time maybe 1-2 days shorter.
Second cold sore: Corner of mouth (haven't had one in that spot in a few years) Used for 10mins every hour for 4 hours. Then thought it might be helping a bit and backed down to 5mins every other hour for 6 more hours. Result: Angry then normal Cold sore and slightly larger then avg. (not by much) Healing time was longer than normal.
My conclusions find this product is ineffective but I will try to update in a year after a few more cold sores. If I get similar results on new cold sores then I'll discontinue use all together. I would pray they start giving out trials for the new vaccine that I saw on the news the other day than hold my breath on Dermaseptic actual working for you.

Effective Sep 28, 2009

Finally, something that works to shorten the life of and keep cold sores under control. About a month after purchasing this a cold sore sprung up. Three little dots in the shape of a triangle appeared without so much as a tingle to warn about it. I hit it right away with the Dermaseptic, doing 3-5 minute sessions every couple hours. The cold sore didn't get any bigger and was barely above the surface. Within one day it had shrunk in size and I could tell the Dermaseptic was doing its job. I trust it so much at has found a new home in my laptop bag since I travel a lot for work. My recommendation is to never leave home without since we all know how annoying and embarrassing cold sores can be.
