4It Really Does Work, Just Use It Everyday....  Jun 22, 2008
By Amarande
I'm a female who has coarse facial hair growth. After years of shaving, I developed a severe case of razor bumps under my chin and on my neck. It looked disgusting.

I have been using Bump Stopper for 8 days, applying it daily...sometimes twice a day, and my skin is clearing up nicely. I also stopped shaving and started using an epilator instead. MUCH better!

Plus, this product is cheap, so its not a major drain on my money...and thats good because I'm only 8 days into it and I will need another jar within the next week or so. But my case of razor bumps was really severe AND I wanted to see them disappear fairly quickly, so I think I have been using a lot more than the average person would.

I love Bump Stopper, it really does work great. My chin and neck area is starting to look clear and feminine again!

5Save some money and time use this first  Apr 23, 2007
By A. Cohen
I bought this product and am amazed by the results. You need to

understand what I've been through before I found it. I went to Kaiser

Permanente Clinic and saw a general practitioner about my neck bumps that I thought was

folliculitis and he assured me it was a fungus (tinea barbae) and

quickly wrote me a prescription for an oral antifungal. I am a Doctor

of Chiropractic so I had to do basic dermatology and I told him that

wasn't what I thought it was. He assured me it certainly was a fungus

and took out a book and showed me some pictures that I thought looked

very different than my neck. I then asked if we could do a sample

to confirm it was a fungus. He agreed and I asked if a topical

antifungal would be sufficient. He initially said no but then spoke

with a dermatologist who agreed with this plan of action. I agreed to

use it which I did for 2 weeks at which time I called to see if the

lab results were back and I spoke with another General Practitioner

who told me the topical prescription that the other doctor gave me

probably wouldn't work and I should just buy Lamisil over the counter.

I did that for 3 weeks and didn't notice any difference so then I

called to find out the results and get an appointment with a

dermatologist. At this point I found out the test results were

negative I didn't have a fungus or any bacterial growth. If I was a

patient with no medical background I would have been on the oral

anti-fungal for the 5 weeks as they tried to determine if it was a

fungus. And there are serious side effects to these medications.

I then had to wait 1 month to see the dermatologist. The dermatologist

walked in, looked at me with a magnifying glass and told me I had

pseudofolliculitis barbae. She said there wasn't much she could do for

that (I appreciated the honesty)... she could write me a prescription

for Retin-A or I could try a Bump Stopper product. She wrote me

the prescription for Retin-A and then I started asking about the side

effects (increased sensitivity to touch and sun) and it was apparent I

would try Bump Stopper 2 first.

A major problem is pseudofolliculitis barbae is more common in the

black community and here I am a white guy in Hawaii seeing Asian

doctors and they had no clue.

I wasted too much money and time and I just wished someone had told me

about Bump Stopper earlier. It has cleared up about 80-90% after 2 weeks of me

using it as directed and I'm amazed!

5Works BETTER than Tend Skin  Sep 20, 2004
By TAMIAM
I am very prone to ingrown hairs and have tried everything to combat them. Bump Stopper worked moderately well, as did Tend Skin, but did not completely take care of the problem; Bump Stopper-2 is the only thing that eliminated the ingrown hairs and redness. You are supposed to apply it twice daily and after shaving, and I find if I slack off, the bumps come back right away. But if I stick to it, my skin is perfect! I LOVE this product.

3Works great, however...  Oct 21, 2011

I've been using tend skin for years and recently found this product, it works better than tend skin and any others I've used, and its cheap! However, I would urge caution in using this product frequently as it has a high concentration of resorcinol (the active ingredient).

In many other countries resorcinol is banned outright or strictly limited for topical use in nonprescription products, however in the US there are no limitations for topical use (a policy which some claim needs to be revised). Resorcinol is a potential carcinogen, has negative effects on the thyroid and is a known skin sensitizer. Typically it is considered safe for topicsl use in low concentrations.. HOWEVER, the world health organization recommends against using large amounts of resorcinol topically on areas where the chemical may enter the blood stream (ie, nicks and cuts from shaving, or acne).

If you search for info on resorcinol you should easily find the WHO report which has detailed information on this subject, written by an international panel of experts.

Personally I am still using this product but in moderation and cautiously.. the general consensus is that resorcinol is probably safe for topical use as long as the concentration in your bloodstream remains low.

2Didn't work for me... maybe it will for you???  Nov 23, 2010
By TruthBeTold
I had high hopes that bump stopper 2 would work after reading the many positive reviews, however, after 2 weeks of consistent use (morning, night and after shaving) I still had razor bumps. The appearance of the bumps may have lessened somewhat but not nearly enough.

That being said, I would still recommend others to at least try it. It has potentially beneficial ingredients not commonly found in other products and everyone's skin will respond differently.
