The very finest brand of gymnema sylvestre Sep 19, 2009

In case you don't know what gymnema sylvestre is, it is useful to diabetics and prediabetics in helping stabilize their blood sugar. It does this by making the insulin you produce more effective and also by absorbing the sugar in the food that you do ingest. Some sources claim that it has the power to regenerate beta cells in the pancreas itself, but I find this claim dubious.
I tried another brand of gymnema sylvestre first, and found it to hit a little to hard, in that the sugar low I got later in the day was just a little too low. A much better product is Informulab's Beta Fast GXR Glucose Balance - this product. The dosage is one tablet twice daily with best results achieved when taken with breakfast and dinner. Each pill is 400 mg gymnema sylvestre leaf time released.
For some reason I just need extra help keeping my blood sugar in line after lunch.
Thus I began taking half a 400 mg pill with lunch daily and over time saw a real improvement in my condition as far as midday postprandial blood sugar levels. You should probably talk to your doctor before you use this product, but most of them aren't really knowledgable about supplements and will probably tell you what mine said - it won't hurt but it won't help. Then, if it does help, your doctor will probably say it was a coincidence.

This supplement seems to moderate my morning blood sugar. I am not diabetic, but have had some slightly elevated blood sugar readings in the past.

I have been using the Glucose Balance for 9 to 12 months. My A1c has gone from 6.4 tp 5.5 and 5.5 is not diabatic. I am 81 years old and have been a type 2 diabatic since my late 20's.
My fasting blood sugar has gone from 150 to 185 and is now 110 to 125. Needless to say I believe in this product.
