5Dog's Pain Gone with "NEW" DGP from American BioSciences  Jul 03, 2005
By L. Struve "SheWolf"
My "Service Dog"; a 5 year old Plush coated German Shepherd named Wolfgang, who has given me "My life back," needed relief from a sore, and cronic aching shoulder. I researhed, and found many pain relievers, none of which came without precautions and side affects except; "DGP, or Dog Gone Pain. Wolf has been on this wonderful all natural herbal and cartilage joint support and pet revitatization since January 2005. Not only did the DGP releive his pain, but it is giving Wolfie a "new lease on life". We both are so very thankful. We are a team again.

5Excellent supplement!  Feb 28, 2006
By Bonnie P. "Dog Mom"
My small 11-yr-old poodle was struggling with arthritis in her shoulders. She couldn't walk a block without hobbling and jumping off the couch was painful, too. We added DGP and flax oil into her diet (she was already taking glucosamine and ligaplex) and she's walking, playing and bouncing around again!

2Not the miracle I hoped for.  Apr 03, 2008
By Mary Jo Sminkey "dog trainer and web programmer"
I have a sheltie with osteoarthritis in one elbow that severely limits his activities. I carry him around a lot, use a pet stroller, etc. and so far have only found a combination of Synovi G3 and Rimadyl to be effective in treating it. The glowing reviews for DGP gave me hope that we could get him off the Rimadyl which of course is not ideal for long-term treatment. I gave this product a good month-long trial but unfortunately it just didn't work for my dog, and after he had clearly gotten worse on it, I had to switch back to the Rimadyl. Still, while it didn't work for me, I still would recommend people try it, the price is a tad high, and it would be nice if they gave some kind of guarantee on it, but if there is even a chance that it might work for your dog versus using NSAIDS, it's worth a shot. I just wish it had worked for us, but I just didn't see any improvement with it at all.

1A disappointment  Jan 03, 2008
By E A Jewell
This product was brought to my attention by a friend who had seen the glowing online reviews and information on the distributor's website. I have a 10 yr old male border collie cross with a severely arthritic left hock due to an old traumatic injury sustained 5 years ago. The joint is permanently unstable because the colateral ligaments were torn, hence the secondary arthritis, and we're trying to put off ankylosis (fusion) of the joint as long as possible. He is usually 2-3/10 lame intermittently, but copes well and runs happily most of the time. However, when the cold damp winter weather set in, he got a lot worse, and was clearly much more uncomfortable, probably 6-7/10 lame. He is already on the maximum safe dose of meloxicam (a conventional NSAID) that he can have, and has been for about three years. (Note: he has a full blood profile to monitor his liver and other organ function every six months and all his values have been within normal limits). So we decided to try DGP to see if it would help at all. Well, unfortunately, he has been on the daily dose for his bodyweight for a month (I'm not one for snap judgements) and there has been no improvement whatsoever. I would have been happy with even a tiny apparent increase in flexibility or comfort, but none has been visible. Fortunately there have been no side effects either. Please bear in mind that my experience is no more or less valuable than any of the other anecdotes you will read, but I personally am disappointed - I was hoping against my better judgement that DGP would help my dog. I am left with a couple of questions: If this stuff is so good, why isn't the "secret prorietary blend of herbs" patented and listed? Conventional medicine datasheets even show the structure of the molecule in question, because there is no need for secrecy. Secondly, if the manufacturer is so confident in their product, why haven't they taken it to veterinary schools and put it through rigorous, double-blind trials? The so-called trial described in the literature supplied by the distributor is a joke from any scientist's perspective, and would only reassure someone without a college science background. So good luck, folks; try it anyway, but just be aware that it might not be the miracle you're looking for. Oh, and by the way - I am a practicing veterinarian, who routinely uses complimentary as well as conventional therapies.

5Great Product  Sep 06, 2006
By Dog Lover
Perhaps 4-5 years ago, our Yorkie started to ignore his food, avoided play, and did not want to go on long walks. This is a dog that played 24/7 just a year earlier. We suspected pain, but did not know for sure. After some research, we decided to try DGP. Within days, he was back to his old self. Zippy is now 14 1/2 years old and still going strong. I am so glad we found DGP.
